Hygiene passport training and test is for people who work on food premises and handle unpackaged perishable foods.
After the training you will participate on the hygiene passport test. Hygiene Passport are issued by Hygiene Passport Examiners approved by the Finnish Food Authority.
Content of the training
Hygiene competence training gives you sufficient information to be able to demonstrate hygiene competence in accordance with the requirements of section 27 of the Food Act (23/2006). After the training, a hygiene passport test is carried out by the Examiner approved by the Finnish Food Authority. You can also participate only in the hygiene passport test at Taitotalo. We also organize company implementations at Taitotalo or at the customer's premises.
Food hygiene proficiency is regulated by the European Union’s General Regulation on Food Hygiene (Regulation (EC) 852/2004) and the National Food Act (297/2021:19, 20, 75, 79, 80 §).

Training is conducted in English as a one-day live teaching and the test can be performed in English, Finnish or Swedish at the end of the day. If you wish to take the test in Finnish of Swedish contact terhi.suokas@taitotalo.fi beforehand. The training and test are based on material that can be found on the website of the Finnish Food Authority.
We also accept registrations under 14 days before the training, but please note that the invoice must be paid upon arrival for the training/test.

- Test 2.15 PM to 3.30 PM
Retest
If you do not pass the test the first time, you will get a retest at a reduced price, 29€.
Ask more about the retest from hans.tikkanen@taitotalo.fi. A private person must present a receipt (electronically accepted) for the participation fee upon arrival at the event. The invoice comes by e-mail about two weeks before the event starts.
Students of Taitotalo have discounted price (for the training+ test 70 €, just the test 32€, retest 18€). In the "Additional information" section of the registration form, state that you are a student of Taitotalo.
Verification of identity
The Hygiene Passport will be issued with your full name and Finnish personal identification number. If the person does not yet have a Finnish personal identification number, a Hygiene Passport with the full name and date of birth will be issued.
The following original, photographic and valid documents are accepted as identity documents:
- Finnish identity card
- Finnish passport
- Finnish driver’s license
- Finnish Kela card with a picture
- Foreign identity card
- Foreign passport
- Alien’s passport (only accepted if it does not indicate that the identity of the document holder has not been reliably established)
- Refugee travel document (to be accepted only if it does not indicate that the identity of the holder of the document could not be reliably established)
- A document issued by the police/border guard with a copy of the passport, the stamp of the authority and an indication that the passport is held by the authority for the time being. This document may be used temporarily to prove its identity
- A residence permit card or residence card issued by the Finnish Immigration Service to refugees, asylum seekers or other immigrants
Not accepted as verification of identity:
- foreign driver's license and moped card, pictureless Kela card, student card (even with pictures), bus ticket (even with pictures), library card (even with pictures) or other similar documents
